琵琶湖は山に囲われており、何億年と言う単位でその山々の間を右往左往したから、今琵琶湖の周りは北部を除いてほぼ全域に平地があるそうな。外周にある山の方へ行ってみると、農業を潤す貯水池がチラホラ。その一つに遊びに行くと、予想通りの訪問者ゼロ、と言いたいところだが、釣り人が1人いらっしゃってた。なんとも癒しな風景♡ 結構居心地の良い避暑／コロナ地だ。

Biwa Lake is surrounded by mountains, and in between those mountains the lake had changed its location little by little. When you reach out to the mountains, there are reservoirs here and there and visited one of them. As I imagined, there was absolutely no one except one gentlemen was fishing. How is a relaxing summer and COVID getaway place it is.

琵琶湖まで 10Km to Biwa-Lake

田植えの季節は、小川が濁り、風は涼しいが日は温い♪
Creek gets muddy, wind is cold but sun is warm at
planting season.

その中、片道10Kmをカメラ片手につらつら散歩。
That made me take a long walk 10Km one way.

琵琶湖は暗く、冷たく、寂しかった～。
Biwa-Lakeside was dark, cold, and quiet.

帰りはバスが１時間以上来ない、だから歩いた。
I had to walk because it was still one hour away from
the next bus.

あまりに疲れたので、こいつに助けてもらった♪
Needed to hop into a bus because my leg hurt.

Cycling around チャリブラ

近江富士は、古事記にも出てくる山とされている。長年の浸蝕で平らな土地に突然そびえる432メートルの山。登ると、以外に険しく、ハイキングとは一寸行かない感じが、♡

Oumi-Fuji is mentioned in the oldest history book, Kojiki written 1.3K years ago. During such a long time period, land has been scraped away by natural habitat leaving the Oumi-Fuji there elevating its height at 432m is not an easy one to climb.

そんな近江富士から１０Kｍも走って琵琶湖まで転がっても真っ平ら。海に来ている感覚でも、塩のベタつきが無く、気持ち良い♡
Rolling over and over for 10 good kilo-meters from such foot of Oumi-Fuji, road lies there flat all the way to Biwa Lake. The lake is so big almost like an ocean, but with fresh wind so refreshing.

Why not picnic at riverside♪

A trip around my home away from Home.

So, I'm here in a country side almost never thought I would adopt here. But, surprising enough, it reminds me of Hartford where I love, and is my Home.

My bike seems to becoming very useful as the landscape here in Yasu is so flat, I don't need any light gear. So, my single gear town rider is just enough to wonder around!

PEACE 平和

それぞれの時代に、それぞれの事件、事故、災害があり、人はそのたびに驚き嘆き、勉強する。　そうして次に向かって、また歩き出す。
何かを作り出そうとして提案する者が居て、それに対立する人も居る。　対立はいけないことではなく、むしろブレーキ約なのだから、必要なことはわかってる。　車の免許を取るときに、先生というのか、講義をいただくとき必ず言われる、「ダロウ運転はダメ！」と同じ事だが、何かを決める時、これはおきないだろう、いらないだろう、と思う前に、起きた場合、居る場合、という仮説をつくり、その場合の対応策を作っておくことぐらい、何の損にもならないと思う。
今回の自然災害×愚断からくる犠牲はあまりにも多く・大きい。　我々は、これをきちっと分析し、社会の再構築に役立てないようであれば、世界から見て、経済的に、政治的に、社会的沈没は免れない。

There are crimes, accidents and variety of tragedies happening around the globe in each era. Human beings, each time, learns the lesson for new and better livings.
Opinion always encounters opposition, which is essential for safer, or better discussion and/or solutions. When we first learn driving lesson at driving schools, we all are told "not to bet while driving, but predict pedestrians suddenly appearing or incidents will happen", always be prepared so there will be less chance accidents occur.
The Great Quake and ignorant decisions has given us a very harsh lesson. If we do not take these lessons seriously and precisely into the coming political, economical, and social decisions and strategies, We will sink our self into the sea of criticism.

Snow 雪 Yuki

昨夜、東京都心の積雪は2cmという報道だったけど、積もった雪は5cmはあったでしょう。雪かきを初めてスタートに戻ると、もう地面は真っ白。昼にはなくなっちゃうんだろうな～。

NEWS told us there was an inch of snow last night, but to me, it looked like there were 2. Started shoving snow last night made me think was an endless work. Yet, Tokyo snow may not last one day.

天使ちゃん My Little Angel

かわいい姫君が夕日の影に映る自分の足の影を見て気づいた。「私の足の長～い♬」　なんで、なんで！？　って。　たぶん、上から見ると、胴のほうが長いんだろうな～。　でも、良い所に気づいたぞ！
Little cute girl came to realize how long her legs were looking at sun shine through her legs putting shadows on the beach. I guess, if we look at the shadow from above, body part looks longer, probably....
But, she has a great vision and recognition! That's my girl!

ドイツもフランスも、郊外のハイウェイも果てしないが、この景色がなんといっても果てしない…（２時間走ってもこんな感じ）。　この辺に住んでる人たちは、どこでお買いものするんだろうか！？
German and French high-ways stretches so long without a town.... I wonder where these people go shopping....
