スカイスクレーパー that Scrapes The Sky

やっと出てきた村。　何の小屋かわからないが、都市でも郊外でも落書きは大流行…。　しかし、この辺で空に刺さるのは大きな木か電柱だけ。　のどかでいいねぇ♬
Now sure what the little house behind the electric pole is for, but not only in cities, but in rural areas, graffiti is so popular. BTW, the only things that scrapes the sky is either a tall tree or electric poles....

日曜日の Strips of Clowds

フランクフルトのホテル（部屋のベランダ）からの眺め。大気圏の天井が奥までずっと続いている。笹身のような雲だ…。

風が吹けば電車が止まる。今日はだいぶ風が強かったらしく、昼ごろまで遅れやら中止だったようで。ホリデー初日に・・・。
Wind gust stops train. Early morning, wind was blowing so strong that stopped and delayed so many train. Oh what a first day for holiday travelers....

物理 Physics

この角を見上げた１５８メートル上にビルの天辺がある。山ならなだらかな傾斜を経て頂上に至るのは自然の法則であり物理的に当たり前だけど、ビルはいきなり垂直に頂上まで続く。もちろん強度計算や物理的根拠に基づいてこんな事が出来るんだよね・・・。すごいよね、怖いよね・・・。
The top of this building sits 158m (518ft) above this corner.  Mountain by nature, must have a slope to prevent from collapsing.  It is no doubt that this building is standing accordingly to structural strength calculated upon intelligent study.  Isn't it amazing, and frightening?

新宿３丁目あたり Around Shinjuku 3-Chome

東京は新宿区の歴史博物館が三栄町辺りにある。新宿にゆかりがある僕としては、非常に興味深く見学する事が出来た。昔も今もほとんど変わらない区画や、今も残る道路と聞くと、すごくその時代に戻ってみたくなるが、この博物館でそれが少し実現できた。
今エコエコって言うけど、たったの１３０年ぐらい前までのどかな田園風景が新宿区にもあり、空気も水もさぞかしおいしかったろう・・・。
There is a Museum of Shinjuku-Ku in Sanei-Cho.  As I have family house in Shinjuku-Ku, it was an exciting place to visit.  When I hear that blocks and area, or streets lay there since hundreds of years ago, I always wish I could visit the area in those days.  The museum virtually brought me to those era and I was able to experience daily life of old days.
Today, we are all obsessed about ecology, but only about 130 years ago Shinjuku-Ku had acres of crops and there were almost no cars, facilities, and factories that poisons the air and water.

暮らし Living

コンクリート、ガラス、鉄、樹脂、木材、英知、デザイン、技術。　実に美しい光景だ。　このビルの中では、家族は団欒を、ビジネスマンは仕事を、左の建設中のビルでは、職人が腕をふるって内装を仕上げている。　日は沈み、遠く離れた発電所から明かりが届き、家では夕飯の支度が始り、オフィスでは残業を始めるビジネスマンが、現場では職人が納期までフル回転。
続く都市開発を横目に、公園の緑に癒されよう。

Concrete, glass, metal, plastic, wood, intellecual design and technology makes a beautiful skyscraper.  Inside these buildings, there are family whose mothers and wives, or whoever is preparing dinner.  In offices, people are working overtime, and the building to the right, construction almost done, workers a rapping up their work getting ready to welcome tenants.

In the leer of the continuing urban development, what is healing is the green of a park.

外交 Diplomacy

最近建ったオフィスビル、最上部。
ベルギー大使館です。
ものすごく、きれいで、立体的な建物は、その辺のXYZ軸でしかできていないビルとは違い、落ち着いたたたずまい。　近代的なデザインの中に、遊び心も、クラフトマンシップも顔をのぞかす。

Recently built office building.

This is the new Belgium Embassy building.  Unlike ordinary box designed buildings, it has craftsmanship type of design, special wall design on the top of being stately building.

尻水筒 Flask

良く、西部劇でカウボーイが、おしりのポケットに入れている湾曲した小さな水筒。あの中身って、ウイスキーが入ってる。　もともとは、イギリスから来たものらしい。従来は銀やピューターという金属で作っていたものを、今はステンレスやチタンで作るんだとさ。
You probably saw a cowboy drinking whiskey from a FLASK, conveniently slips in/out the back pocket on their pants.  It seems like they were originally made in England.  Than used to be silver or pewter nowadays are made from stainless or titanium....

デカブツ A Giant

この入り組んだ鉄骨の先に、建物の一部がのぞいている。　ずいぶん遠くに、しかも高くそびえる建物。　離れた場所から見ると、あれほどきれいに立っているのに、力の分散は、角度を変えると、こうもハチャメチャに見えるんだなぁ。 和音と不協和音の共存する場所、かな。
You can see the tip of the tower through metal beams. Far, and high up in the air. Observing the tower from a distance, columns dispersing the mass is forming a perfect physical arpeggio. But from right underneath, it now turns to a Suspiratio. What a balance.

ソラ sky

気持のよい、幾何学的なソラ。　すがすがしい風が、谷から谷をめぐり、渦を巻きながら消えていく。　空を眺めていたいが、首が痛いので、ここいらでやめておこう。
Such a beautiful, geometrical sky. Vally to Vally, breeze runs through, only to whirl around their little world. Want to look more? But our neck is getting sore. So I suggest, that we all should rest.
